This 4-day training provides current Certified Peer Recovery Specialists the knowledge and skillset to work with those in the criminal justice system seeking recovery from substance use disorders.
This training is approved by the Minnesota Certification Board and meets all the educational requirements for the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist endorsement.
Training topics include:
- Understanding Forensic Peer Recovery Support
- Using lived experience with the Justice System to help others
- Role of Forensic Peer Recovery Support
- Working with those involved in the Criminal Justice System
- Criminal thinking patterns and risk factors
- Reentry and Recovery
- Trauma Informed care
- Cultural Awareness
- Ethics and Boundaries
