The Aliveness Project

The mission of The Aliveness Project is to encourage self-empowerment and provide direct services for persons living with HIV/AIDS. The Aliveness Project has been an active leader in the HIV community in Minnesota ever since. We offer a food shelf and hot meals to support daily nutrition, outreach and case management services to get people tested and into medical care, integrative therapies to alleviate the side effects of HIV medications and promote general well-being, and much more.

Aliveness Project promotes the hope, strength and courage required of people living with HIV. We are committed to maintaining a space that provides support, information, and important services to enhance the quality of lives of those affected.

The Portico Program

Portico Healthnet is a nonprofit health and human services organization that has helped Minnesotans overcome barriers to health care coverage and services since 1995.

Through outreach efforts, personalized application and enrollment assistance for Minnesota Health Care Programs (i.e., Medical Assistance, MinnesotaCare and MNsure programs), and its unique model of coverage and care management, Portico enables uninsured individuals and families to access affordable coverage and care.

Portico employs multi-lingual and culturally-competent community health workers and care management coordinators in order to effectively serve the diverse populations represented among Minnesota’s uninsured.

Thrive! Family Support

Thrive! Family Support exists to help support those who have family members or other key relationships that are struggling with substance abuse or other destructive behaviors.  Thrive Family Support seeks to bring hope and restoration to those families by providing resources, support, education, advocacy and healing connections with compassion, understanding and love.

It has been said by many that there must be a better way through these difficulties than merely learning to survive.  And, there is!  We want to help people not just survive but, thrive!  Our in-person support groups are a unique combination of topics and support that provide real solutions to families going through real struggles, with compassion, understanding and love.   Meetings are held throughout the Metro area.

Twin Cities Men’s Center

TCMC offers a variety of support groupsworkshops, brunches, retreats,  play shops, presentations  and conferences. Presenters participate in weekly programs on Wednesday nights at the Men’s Center. TCMC provides speakers and custom-designed programs for schools and community organizations.

Since 1996, The Men’s Center began offering Men Helping Men with Anger Management classes, pioneering this vital healing field. We continue to serve as a clearinghouse of Resources for Twin Cities Men.

That’s how we describe the care your child will receive at University of Minnesota Physicians Pediatric Dental Clinic. Like UMPhysicians’ Adult Dental Clinic, the care providers at our pediatric clinic specialize in complex cases and conditions. UMN School of Dentistry Faculty Practice

Provides team-based, comprehensive dental care for children and adults, including patients of all ages who are anxious or have an underlying developmental or medical condition that may add complexity to the management of their oral health.

Care is provided by University of Minnesota School of Dentistry faculty members and by dental, dental therapy, dental hygiene students and/or dentists pursuing advanced education. All student caregivers treat patients under supervision by School of Dentistry faculty. Patients with advanced oral health and care needs may be treated in our specialty or advanced care clinics.

University of Minnesota Physicians Dental Clinic

The University of Minnesota Physicians Riverside Dental Clinic provides comprehensive dental care for adults who have an underlying medical condition that may add complexity to the management of their oral health.

Affiliated with University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, the Riverside Dental Clinic also serves patients that need additional care due to physical or developmental disabilities, dental phobias and anxiety. Graduate dental residents—working under the supervision of dentists and faculty members at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry—provide care at the clinic.

Our dentists are faculty of the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry as well as graduate dental residents in the School of Dentistry’s General Practice Residency Program at University of Minnesota Medical Center. In addition, we work in multidisciplinary care teams that include dental hygienists and dental specialists.

Veteran’s Administration

Our Mission

Our mission is to support Veterans who are experiencing homelessness, or who are at risk of homelessness, or serious mental illness by promoting physical and mental health, assisting in securing and maintaining housing, and by working with Veterans to achieve increased community integration.

The Minneapolis VA Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC) is one of 17 VA centers nationally, aimed at ending homelessness among Veterans.

As Minnesota’s largest Federally Qualifed Health Center, West Side Community Health Services ensures that the communities we serve have access to high quality and affordable health care. Services are provided regardless of a patient’s ability to pay for services when rendered and regardless of a patient’s insurance status. Patients without health insurance are supported through our West Side Cares’ Discount Program which accounts for a patient’s and her/his family’s financial ability to contribute to their care. During 2014, West Side Community Health Services provided over $13.5 million dollars in sliding fee discounts for medical, dental and pharmacy services provided to uninsured and underinsured patients.

Zion Lutheran Church Recovery Worship

We gather in a circle and receive welcome. The service is about 45 minutes long and includes some traditional worship elements like Confession, Forgiveness, and Holy Communion. We sing. We pray. Each season we try a new style and encounter recovery resources like the Twelve Steps and the Serenity Prayer in new ways.
