12 Step Spirituality

About Centering Prayer Meditation

  • Centering prayer meditation is very healing and will facilitate your process to spiritual awakening (Step 12)
  • It deepens your 12 Step practice through daily immersion in prayer and meditation.
  • Centering Prayer meditation is a way to deepen your relationship with your higher power.
  • It is a very simple method rooted in ancient Christian practices.

Centering Prayer can help deepen our application of the 12 Steps generally, and the 11th Step specifically, through daily immersion in prayer and meditation. We believe that, when applied as a daily supplement to the 12 Steps, Centering Prayer opens us to the deepest dimension of spirituality.

A Different Kind of Grief Support Group

Have YOU Lost a Loved One to Death from Addiction? If you have felt isolated from family and friends, it is important to seek support from those who also share your experience. Loss of a Life… and Life Dreams. When a loved one dies from addiction, the loss to the bereaved is two-fold: 1) The loss of the loved one. 2) The loss of life dreams you held for them which were not grieved while they lived because the hope for their recovery was ever present. When death occurs, the loss of the loved one and the loss of their life dreams simultaneously create a devastating avalanche of grief. The turmoil often created by the addiction of the deceased has a different effect on each family member or friend. We understand that these different experiences may foster isolation and may prevent family and friends from supporting each other and healing through their grief together. Sound familiar?

ACA (Adult Children) Intergroup

WHAT IS ACA?

ACA is a 12 Step/12 Tradition program of recovery dedicated to people who were raised in dysfunctional families. ACA does not seek to assign blame to parents or caretakers, but we seek to understand the reality of how family dysfunctions affected us as children and still affects our adult behavior today.

Family dysfunction can include alcoholism, abandonment, neglect, or any type of addiction or abuse. ACA is synonymous with ACoA; Adult Children Anonymous; & Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families.

All About You Recovery Counseling Services

Recovery Counseling can help you learn the skills you need to develop, navigate and maintain, a strong program of recovery that is based on your strengths, wants, needs beliefs, and preferences. Recovery is a lifelong journey that can bring many challenges along the way. Recovery Counseling can teach you how to maximize the joy and minimize the struggles along the way. I can help you identify your triggers and stuck points in each stage of recovery and develop plans to successfully work through them.

I believe that recovery services should be developed using a person centered approach, and I believe that it is my job to tailor my services to you. I will help you identify your concerns, issues and struggles related to your substance use and how it has impacted your life. Then I will help you to use the information to set recovery goals that are consistent with your wants, needs, believes and preferences, which will assist you in achieving the life that you have hoped for and  dreamed of. Finally, I will help you develop and maintain your own individualized recovery program.

As a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I will use my educational and professional expertise to help you map out your long term recovery goals and help you explore and resolve any difficulties you may encounter along the way.  I offer a safe, comfortable  and supportive environment to help you feel as much at ease as possible, even when talking about difficult issues.

We are not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or institution. We neither endorse or oppose any causes. Our primary purpose is to help dually-diagnosed individuals to achieve sobriety and maintain mental health. (adapted from the Preamble of Dual Recovery Anonymous) Our group has been meeting for 17 years at the Apollo Drop-in Center, a service provided by “People Incorporated”, a non-Profit based in the Twin Cities.
