PEER RECOVERY SPECIALIST TRAINING

FEE & SCHOLARSHIPS

November, 2019 Recovery Coach Academy graduates

Minnesota Recovery Connection recognizes the value of developing leaders within the Recovery Community. The Recovery Coach Academy (RCA), our Peer Recovery Specialist training, is one of the ways we can help community members do just that

Fee

The cost of attending the Recovery Coach Academy is $850.

This fee includes:

  • 46-hour training (40 hours of in-person training)
  • Expert content providers, including credentialed trainers in motivational interviewing, ethics, recovery advocacy, and cultural competency
  • Training manuals and other materials
  • Lunch, beverages and snacks each day

When an individual is asked to attend the Recovery Coach Academy by their organization or employer, employers are expected to cover the cost of the training. Having a Recovery Coach on staff is an investment in providing a more robust set of services for their clients.

Scholarship

MRC offers a limited number of scholarships for those who cannot afford the fee. We ask that individuals who have the means to cover the cost of the training pay the fee. This enables us to make the training available to more community members who could not otherwise participate.

Staying true to what recovery is all about, scholarship recipients fulfill 50-hours of volunteer service at MRC within 1-year of completing the RCA. Before the training, an MRC staff member will connect with the scholarship recipients to discuss available service opportunities and schedule your first shift.
