Position Description: Administrative Volunteer

Purpose

The purpose of the Administrative Volunteer is to assist in the day-to-day operations of Minnesota Recovery Connection through maintenance of our spaces, assisting on various projects, and directing phone calls or drop-in community members to appropriate staff to have their questions and concerns answered.

Roles & Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of the Administrative Volunteer include:

  • Providing customer service to community members seeking assistance in person and over the phone
  • Directing calls to the appropriate staff members
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment for staff and fellow volunteers
  • Collaborating with the Community Engagement Coordinator and the Director of Programs on various projects
  • Practicing appropriate ethics and boundaries in accordance with Minnesota Recovery Connection guidelines
  • Accurately representing the role of Minnesota Recovery Connection to the recovery community
  • Complying with all Minnesota Recovery Connection policies and procedures outlined in the Volunteer Handbook

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 day in personal or family recovery or experience as a recovery ally
  • Completion of the volunteer orientation
  • High verbal and written communication skills
  • A desire to give back to the recovery community
  • No violent or predatory convictions
