Recovery Coach Academy Classroom Assistance Volunteer

Position Description: Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) Classroom Assistance

Purpose

The purpose of the Recovery Coach Academy (RCA) volunteer is to assist Recovery Coach Academy trainers in the day-to-day activities of in-person training sessions.

Roles & Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities of the RCA Classroom Assistance Volunteer include:

  • Set up and take down of classroom space
  • Assisting in serving and cleaning up after lunch
  • Refreshing drinks and snacks as needed
  • Offering support to classroom trainers as needed
  • Participate in class dyads or other training activities as needed
  • Offering knowledge to classroom participants on how training has impacted journey

Requirements

  • 1 year in personal or family recovery,  or experience as a recovery ally
  • A desire to give back to the recovery community
  • Completion of Volunteer Orientation
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of one full day (8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.) of the 5-day Recovery Coach Academy training. There are multiple Recovery Coach Academies scheduled each year. Each training consists of 5 full days, Monday – Friday.
  • Completion of the Recovery Coach Academy (preferred)
